Come together (or 6 ft apart) to help animals from the Thomasville-Thomas County Humane Society at our local Dog Park. You will walk, play and socialize with the animals to help keep them happy while they wait for thier furever homes. You are encouraged to bring pet toys, and pet food to donate. Volunteers will receive a take-home kit, HOTC t-shirt, and a Live Better pedometer to track their physical activity while volunteering. Don't forget to log your steps to be entered into a drawing for Disney Park Hopper Passes!
Ages 12 to adult. Under 12 if accompanied by an adult (18+). This opportunity is limited to 8 participants.
This is a no-frills service opportunity. Please bring anything you will need to be comfortable (hat, water, sunscreen, etc.), wear appropriate attire and closed-toe shoes.
DROP OFF AND PICK-UP INSTRUCTIONS: Please drop-off and pick-up volunteers at City of Thomasville Dog Park by 10:00 a.m. to check-in. Be on the lookout for directional signs! *COVID-19 information: Temperatures will be checked on arrival. Masks and gloves will be available, and social distancing is highly encouraged. If you are immuno-compromised and/or requested to self-quarantine, feeling unwell, have any symptoms of illness, or have been exposed to someone diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last 14 days, please stay home and join us at a future opportunity. Please follow all current health guidelines by the CDC and local/state officials.
